The Cleaner at Microsoft

The Cleaner at Microsoft

Cleaner at Microsoft - Short story

Here’s a short story of an unemployed man who goes to Microsoft’s office to fetch a job as a cleaner.

The manager there arranges for an aptitude test (Section: Floors, sweeping and cleaning).

After the test, the manager says: You will be appointed on the scale of $30 per day, let me have your e-mail address, so that I can send a form to complete and advise you where to report for work on your first day.

Taken aback, the unemployed man protests that he is neither in possession of a computer nor of an e-mail address.

To this the MS exist and can therefore hardly expect to be employed. Stunned, the man leaves.

Not knowing where to turn and only having about $10 left, he decides to buy a 10kg box of tomatoes at the supermarket.

Within less than 2 hours, he sells the tomatoes singly at 100% profit. Repeating the process several times more that day, he ends up with almost $100 before going to sleep that night. And thus it dawns on the man that he could quite easily make a living selling tomatoes. Getting up early and earlier every day and going to bed late and later, he multiplies his hoard of profits in quite a short time.

Not too long thereafter, he acquires a cart to transport several dozen boxes of tomatoes, only to have to trade it in again shortly afterwards on a pick-up truck.

By the end of the second year, he is the owner of a fleet of pick-up trucks and manages a staff of a hundred former unemployed people, all selling tomatoes.

Considering the future of his wife and children, he decides to buy some life assurance.

Calling an insurance adviser, he picks an insurance plan to fit his new circumstances. At the end of the telephone conversation, the adviser asks him for his e-mail address in order that he might forward the documentation.

When the man replies that he has no e-mail, the adviser is stunned: “What, you don’t even have e-mail?

How on earth have you managed to amass such wealth without the Internet, e-mail and e-commerce?

Just imagine where you would have been by now, if you had been connected from the very start!”

After a moment’s silence, the tomato millionaire replied: “Sure! I would have been a cleaner at Microsoft!”

A Nice Story About LOVE!!!!

A Nice Story About LOVE!!!!

A Nice Story About LOVE!!!!

I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me.

Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with some water and held it before me, and said this: “You see this water carefully contained on my hand? It symbolizes Love.”

This was how I saw it: As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill through the first cracks it finds.

This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love…they try to posses it, they demand, they expect… and just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retrieve from you .

For love is meant to be free, you cannot change its nature. If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.

Give and don’t expect.
Advise, but don’t order.
Ask, but never demand.

It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It is the secret to true love. To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations from those who you love, and yet an unconditional caring.”

Short story of Two Lovers – The Pillars of Life

Short story of Two Lovers – The Pillars of Life

Short story of Two Lovers - The Pillars of Life
This is story of two Lovers, who finally got married, The girl was very sentimental and the guy was romantic, but on the walk of life, problems, clashes, profession came into their life. She yearn for romantic moments, time makes her husband different; his lack of sensitivity, and the inability of bringing romantic moments into their marriage has disheartened her about LOVE.

One day, she finally decided that “I wanted a divorce”. “Why?” he asked.

“I am tired.” she answered.

He kept silent the whole night, seemingly in deep thought. Finally he asked “What can I do to change your mind?”

Looking into his eyes she said “Answer my question. If you can convince my heart, I will change my mind.

Let’s say, I want a flower located on the face of a mountain cliff, we both are sure that picking the flower will cause your death. Will you do it for me?”

He said: ” I will give you your answer tomorrow….”

She woke up the morning, find him gone, and saw a piece of paper on my bed, which goes….

My dear, “I would not pick that flower for you, the reasons are…..

“When you use the computer you always mess up the Software, and you cry in front of the screen. I have to save my fingers so that I can help to restore the programs.

You always leave the house keys behind, thus I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you.

You love traveling but always lose your way in a new city. I have to save my eyes to show you the way.

You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories to cure your boredom.

You always stare at the computer, and that will do nothing good for your eyes. I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails and help to remove those annoying white hairs. So I can also hold your hand while strolling down the beach, as you enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful sand…and tell you the colour of flowers, just like the colour of the glow on your young face…

Thus, my dear, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do… I could not pick that flower yet, and die … ”

Her tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his handwriting… And as she continue on reading… “Now, that you have finished reading my answer, and if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favorite bread and fresh milk…

She rushed to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, clutching tightly with his hands, the milk bottle and loaf of bread….Now she is very sure that no one will ever love her as much as he does, and she have decided to leave the flower alone…

That’s LIFE, and LOVE. When one is surrounded by love, the feeling of excitement fades away, and one tends to ignore the true love that lies in between the peace and dullness.

Love shows up in all forms; even in very small and cheeky forms. It has never been a model. It could be the dullest and most boring form…

Flowers, and romantic moments are only used and appear on the surface of the relationship. Under all this, the pillar of true love stands.

However at times, often with the interference of extremely close third parties, such things fail to incur, in todays world which is extremely busy, the only demand is for time and devotion to each other, which lacks and if there is interference by third parties, even if that be parents, brother, sister or cousins, the preoccupied small human mind fails to work things out and generally leads to disastrous results, which are often realized way too late to be rectified, I dunno whats next for me, but whatever happens I feel is always for the betterment.

Smog in Delhi NCR - A Hazard to people with Respiratory Problems

Delhi smog sets alarm bells ringing, haze to continue for three days

New Delhi: (From : http://ibnlive.in.com/news/delhi-smog-set-alarm-bells-ringing-haze-to-continue-for-three-days/303937-3-244.html)
It's the first week of November and a thick blanket of smog has pervaded the Delhi skyline, indicating a sharp rise in pollution levels. The level of pollution in Delhi is higher than what it was last Diwali. It's taking a toll on asthma patients in the city.
The grey-white 'haze' over the national capital for the past week has set alarm bells ringing. And there seems to be no respite for the next two to three days.
With a week to go for Diwali, the national capital's nitrogen levels are worse than ever. In fact the pollution level this year were worse than the air quality recorded last year during Diwali, and the experts link the rising pollution levels to a rise in motor vehicular traffic.

For those suffering from respiratory diseases like asthma and bronchitis, the smog has hit hard. Children and the elderly remain vulnerable to infection and headaches.
With the visibility level dipping below 400 meters due to the smog and Delhi adding around 1,000 vehicles to its already existing 6.5 lakh vehicles, rise in pollution level in the city remains a major concern.

NEW DELHI:  (From : http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-11-03/delhi/34892768_1_smog-asthma-patients-risk-of-asthma-attacks)

For the last couple of days, Greater Kailash resident, Esha Verma, has been staying indoors during the evenings. It's not the nip in the air she's worried about. Verma, an asthma patient, prefers not to step out because she fears the smog will aggravate her breathing problem.

The blanket of smog that has enveloped the city has sent the number of respiratory tract infections, and cases of asthma and wheezing spiralling. There's been a spurt in cases of chronic bronchitis and depression too, say doctors. Infants and the elderly are the worst affected.

"Smog and high levels of pollutants in the air are suffocating, particularly for asthma patients who have hyperactive airways. The risk of asthma attacks goes up due to inflammation of the inner lining of the respiratory tract, caused by particulate matter," said Dr Aroop Basu, head of the department chest medicine at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He said the hospital is witnessing an increased number of patients, particularly the elderly, with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

"Wheezing, dry cough and difficulty in breathing are the most common health problems such weather conditions pose to the elderly. We are getting many patients who are not able to walk inside their houses because they have trouble breathing. They are advised to rest and eat healthy," said Basu.

According to Dr Ashok Seth, chairman, cardiovascular sciences at Fortis Escorts Hospital, the risk of heart attacks due to constriction of blood vessels and reduced oxygenation increases in winter, particularly in the presence of smog. "Such patients are advised to take regular medication and limit outdoor activities," he said.

Headaches, mood swings and depression are some other ailments caused by high pollution levels and a dip in temperature, says Dr Sameer Malhotra, head of the department of mental health and behavioural sciences, Max hospital, Saket. As smog decreases the lungs' working capacity, even healthy adults are complaining of tiredness. According to Dr Anoop Misra, director and head, department of diabetes and metabolic diseases at Fortis hospitals, weak lung function also increases the risk of viral infections like flu. "Flu and pneumonia vaccination is a must for the elderly ," he said.

New Delhi: (From : http://www.ndtv.com/article/cities/thick-blanket-of-smog-engulfs-delhi-as-temperatures-continue-to-dip-287883)

A thick blanket of smog (a combination of smoke and fog) enveloped Delhi this morning. Over the last four days, the national capital has been witnessing a thick fog cover, perhaps indicating the onset of winter.

The smog has been caused due to rise in dust particles because of the pollution caused by the vehicles that are plying on the road and the ongoing construction activities in various parts of the city. This particulate matter remains suspended in the air because of lack of wind.

The smog cover has made life difficult for motorists as the visibility is considerably reduced on the roads.

On Friday too, Delhiites saw a foggy morning with a slight chill in the air. The minimum temperature yesterday settled a notch above the season's average at 15.9 degrees Celsius.

Effects of Smog

(From : http://library.thinkquest.org/26026/Environmental_Problems/smog_-_effects.html)

When an area becomes covered in smog, the people feel the effects immediately.  Unlike other problems, which may be harder to understand and visualize, smog creates immediate problems that everyone will experience.

Smog creates many harmful health effects.  It can cause anything from minor pain to deadly diseases such as lung cancer.  Smog slowly ruins people's lungs to an extent as great as that of cigarettes.

The human body has difficulty defending itself against the harms of smog.  Smog can irritate and inflame pulmonary membranes, causing chest pains, coughing, and throat irritation.  Other illnesses such as colds and pneumonia can also be brought on by exposure to smog.

People with asthma problems are under an even greater threat.  Even minor exposure to smog may cause these people to get asthma attacks.

Mexico City has the world's worst levels of smog.  As a result, children and the elderly are advised not to live in the city.  The heavy smog levels have had serious health effects in the city, though many poorer people who need city jobs have to live there and suffer from the smog.

Smog is not only a city problem.  As smog levels increase, winds are carrying smog away from urban areas and harming people and ecosystems far away.

Agriculture is also hurt by smog.  Soybeans, wheat, tomatoes, peanuts, lettuce, and cotton are all subject to infection when exposed to smog.

Health Effects of Smog

Smog affects human health, the environment, wildlife, building materials and textiles. Seniors, children, pregnant women, people with heart and lung problems, those with asthma, smokers, people who exercise outdoors and those with allergies are at greatest risk from smog.

If you are a SENIOR, smog can:

Aggravate your asthma, emphysema or chronic bronchitis symptoms
Decrease your lung’s working capacity and make you more tired
Increase your risk of getting sick by reducing your system’s ability to fight infections

I have a CHILD. How will smog affect my child’s health?

Children are more susceptible to respiratory effects of smog such as wheezing and coughing
Because children breathe more and faster than adults, more harmful chemicals can enter your child’s lungs
More smog will enter your child’s lungs since children often breathe through their mouth rather than their nose. Unlike the mouth, the nose has a natural filtering system which reduced the amount of harmful chemicals
Children are more susceptible since they spend more time outdoors
Smog may make your child more susceptible to infection by reducing the ability of the child’s respiratory system to fight-off infection. Even without smog, children are more susceptible to infection
Symptoms of asthma and allergies can be aggravated by smog

What if I have a HEART or LUNG condition? How will smog affect my health?

Smog may worsen your asthma, emphysema or chronic bronchitis symptoms
Your lung’s working capacity may be reduced making you more tired and your breathing more difficult
Your respiratory system’s ability to fight infection may be reduced making you more susceptible to infection

Haste Raho Message

 Thought for the Day

                                                          Haste Raho

"Why do you like babies?", I asked my core team and I got answers like , " They are cute." "They are fearless." "They are a symbol of love." All the answers were right but they missed out on the most important reason and that was that kids smile a lot. They smile 400 times a day. While on an average, the adult smiles only 15 times per day.
Smile helps us to reduce depression, stress and balances blood pressure and more than anything it puts us in a happy state of mind. In such a state one can make better decisions and think of strategies to increase business, etc.
The mind does not know the difference between a fake and a real smile. Whenever you smile oxytocin and serotnin (happiness hormones) are released; they are also released while eating chocolates, spending times with friends, getting a promotion or good grades or when you give a hug. So practice smiling; have a small smile on your face while watching tv, driving, using facebook, using the laptop -- and feel the difference. Stay Unstoppable and Keep Smiling till it becomes a habit :) Fake it till you make it.
